      • Ellerslie draw with CCFS

      • 14/11/2023
      • A hard-fought draw vs CCFS yesterday. Ellerslie started the game completely dominating and the pressure paid off in the 6th minute when Nathan Mascoll won a penalty and Joshua Payne scored. They continued the pressure and were unlucky when Shezek Scantlebury's goal was ruled out for offside. CCFS then started to grow in the game and a missed kick from a goal kick gave them the opportunity to equalize. In the 2nd half, both teams had chances but Ellerslie had the better chances as 2 goal-line clearances from CCFS stopped them from getting the 2nd goal. MOTM performance from Richard Burke impressed everyone including the CCFS coach and Kebra Bruce also put in another strong performance and were the stand-out players. The draw made it a little bit more difficult to get promoted, however their next game vs Harrison College on November 15th is a must-win.

"Football was the winner yesterday where both teams gave their all and could have won the game. Unfortunately, we were missing 3 key players that in my opinion, with them, we would have won." - Coach Kareen Worrell

      • Remembering our dear Ty N Marshall

      • 24/3/2023
      • On Friday, 17th March, 2023, the teachers and students of the 3rd Year Group offered their last respects to The Late Ty Marshall, former student of Form 3 Payne by conducting a brief memorial service to celebrate the life of our friend and student in the school’s auditorium. Her parents and sister were in attendance. During the morning’s service, Senior Teacher and Pastor, Lennox Boyce, delivered a sermonette highlighting the importance of, “Making Wise Use of our Time” here on earth. Pastor Boyce urged teachers and students to live our lives and be positive in our words and actions throughout the school day, as we are only here, “for a short time”. Therefore, whatever we do should be pleasing unto God.

Fellow classmate and cousin of Ty, Faith Williams recited a poem in Ty’s honour. The principal, Mrs. Stacia Austin made a presentation on behalf of The Ellerslie School, while classmate Takayah presented a token to Ty’s family from Form 3 Payne. Mrs. Phoenix, a member of the Art Department created a portrait, adorned in Ty’s favourite colour, purple; was also presented to her family.

Staff and students were then given the opportunity to sign the photo board to express warm sentiments to her family.

The Ellerslie Family wish to extend sincere condolences to the family and friends, during this time of bereavement.

May we remember Ty, our student and dear friend.

        May she Rest in Peace.
