On Friday, 17th March, 2023, the teachers and students of the 3rd Year Group offered their last respects to The Late Ty Marshall, former student of Form 3 Payne by conducting a brief memorial service to celebrate the life of our friend and student in the school’s auditorium. Her parents and sister were in attendance. During the morning’s service, Senior Teacher and Pastor, Lennox Boyce, delivered a sermonette highlighting the importance of, “Making Wise Use of our Time” here on earth. Pastor Boyce urged teachers and students to live our lives and be positive in our words and actions throughout the school day, as we are only here, “for a short time”. Therefore, whatever we do should be pleasing unto God.
Fellow classmate and cousin of Ty, Faith Williams recited a poem in Ty’s honour. The principal, Mrs. Stacia Austin made a presentation on behalf of The Ellerslie School, while classmate Takayah presented a token to Ty’s family from Form 3 Payne. Mrs. Phoenix, a member of the Art Department created a portrait, adorned in Ty’s favourite colour, purple; was also presented to her family.
Staff and students were then given the opportunity to sign the photo board to express warm sentiments to her family.
The Ellerslie Family wish to extend sincere condolences to the family and friends, during this time of bereavement.
